MMI also partnered with Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE) to co-produce a financial planning guide, “Planning Tips for LGBT Individuals and Couples.”

In addition, MetLife’s financial representatives across the country are helping individuals and couples proactively plan for their unique financial needs. Beyond helping the LGBT community secure their financial futures, MetLife representatives also actively support various LGBT causes and organizations.

Beyond GLAM, MetLife also has as a strong diversity community comprised of more than 40 employee-led groups.

MetLife has received several awards and honors for its commitment to diversity and inclusion. MetLife has earned a perfect score of 100 percent in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index for eight consecutive years. SAGE recognized MetLife with a Certificate in Excellence in Leadership for its Out and Aging study in 2006, and presented MetLife with the first SAGE Corporate Leadership Award in 2010.

“It’s an honor for MetLife to be recognized by PFLAG for our efforts to create an open inclusive environment for all of our associates, ” says Lynne DiStasio, vice president and chief diversity officer at MetLife.  “PFLAG has been a great partner. The Straight for Equality seminars, in particular, have been a great tool in helping educate associates about how straight allies can be supportive of LGBT people at work, at home and in their communities. It’s a great tribute to receive this award.”
